It is important to us that you feel able to raise any safeguarding or welfare concerns you may have. These concerns could be about something happening within the club — or concerns about an individual child.
It is important that you act on any concerns — and if someone from our club is not available then you still need to act.
If you think a child is in immediate danger. Don’t delay – call the police on 999, or call the NSPCC’s helpline on 0808 800 5000, straight away
All our instructors and helpers have been trained to listen to your concerns and ensure any necessary action is taken. If you prefer to speak to someone outside of the actual class setting then please call Sue Ward on 07527 992059 or 01271 343952 or Brian Stockwell on 07789 960893.
WELFARE OFFICERS
We are currently recruiting and training a new team of Welfare Officers. In the interim please raise any concerns with the class instructor. If this is not appropriate then please contact Sue Ward or Brian Stockwell – details shown above.
As a parent or carer you play a very important role in safeguarding your child from harm and helping them get the best from sport.
The information you provide and the example you set can give them the knowledge and confidence needed to deal with threatening or abusive situations.
It’s your right as a parent to be able to check how well a sports club is run, for the sake of your child’s safety and your peace of mind.
The government has produced a leaflet to help parents choose a safe sports club. It is available by Clicking Here
